Kenya Legends retained the Legends Cup after defeating Uganda 24-15 in the second leg at the RFUEA Grounds on Saturday 28 September.

This marks the second consecutive year Kenya Legends have claimed the title, following a dominant 69-18 aggregate win over Uganda in 2023.

The victory extends Kenya’s winning streak against their East African rivals to four consecutive wins.

Kenya built on their 26-15 win in the first leg to seal the title, starting strong after a balanced opening where Uganda dominated early possession but failed to convert opportunities.

Uganda's Chris Lubanga missed a penalty in the opening minutes, and despite their promising start, Kenya slowly found their rhythm.

The breakthrough came in the 15th minute when Peter Tyrrell set up George Asin for the opening try, following a powerful run by Eddie Omondi.

Darwin Mukidza, making his first appearance for the Legends, converted the try to give Kenya a 7-0 lead.

In the second half, Kenya Legends took control. Rugby brothers Humphrey Kayange and Collins Injera combined to send Kevin Gachoka over for Kenya’s third try, which Mukidza successfully converted, stretching the lead to 19-8.

Mukidza was instrumental again, delivering a crucial offload that set up Steve Odhiambo for a try in the corner, making the score 24-8. Uganda responded with a converted try in the 72nd minute but could not close the gap as Kenya held on for the 24-15 win.

The victory cements Kenya’s supremacy in the Legends Cup, continuing their dominance over Uganda with another comprehensive title defense.
