The Kenya Cup enters Round 2on Saturday

Kenya Cup matchday two will go underway this Saturday 3 December with six matches scheduled to take place.

BLAK BLAD VS CATHOLIC MONKS – KENYATTA UNIVERSITY GROUNDS, 3PM

Kenya Cup newbies Monks will make a short trip to Kenyatta University to face Blak Blad RFC at the KU Rugby Grounds. The Monks will be looking to avenge their 40-13 loss to Kabras RFC in Kakamega last weekend. However, they face a formidable Blak Blad side that appears ready for this clash.

Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Blak Blad RFC Captain Mejja Mulongo disclosed that they are willing to fight toe and nail to secure their second victory of the season.

“Knowing that CUEA are desperately searching for a win in the Kenya Cup, we are prepared to fight like it’s our last battle.” He said.

The captain added that they have been practicing various facets of the game, such as scrums, line outs, and set pieces, and they hope to overpower their fellow students on Saturday.

“Mostly we have been working on the set pieces, scrums, and lineouts and we are hoping for meticulous executions come Saturday.”

The Thika-Road based club will aim at capitalizing their home advantage to get maximum points in order to keep their hopes of making the playoffs alive.

MEAN MACHINE VS KABRAS RFC – UON GROUNDS, 3PM

Mean Machine will host Kabras RFC at the UON Grounds in Nairobi. After losing 72-6 to the Menengai Oilers last weekend, the struggling Machines will be looking to get back on the winning track. However, they will need to work harder since Kabras RFC, the current Kenya Cup champions, are a difficult team to beat.

KENYA HARLEQUINS VS MENENGAI OILERS – RFUEA GROUNDS, 3PM

Menengai Oilers will play Kenya Harlequins at the RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi. After defeating Mean Machine the previous weekend, Menengai Oilers enter the game as weekend favorites. Paul Murunga will be eager to overcome a tenacious Gibson Weru by taking advantage of the home edge.

Quins will also want to perform well in this match in order to score as many points as possible, keeping them competitive with the other clubs. After losing 38-0 to KCB RFC last weekend, they remain pointless and second-last on the log. The log-leaders Menengai Oilers, on the other hand, are fired up and keen to extend their winning streak.

KCB RUGBY VS MMUST – MMUST GROUNDS, 3PM

Second-placed KCB Rugby will be eager to roar past the students in order to top the table. From the eyes of a rugby fan, the Bankers might overpower MMUST. However, with the home advantage, it is still impossible to underestimate the power of the Lurambi boys. MMUST will also be seeking to bounce back to winning ways after narrowly losing to Strathmore Leos last weekend. KCB RFC on the other hand head to this clash with high spirits after defeating Quins.

NAKURU RFC VS MWAMBA RFC – NAKURU ATHLETIC CLUB, 3PM

The Nakuru Athletic Club will host another intriguing match between Nakuru RFC and Mwamba RFC. Both clubs will be looking for their first victories on Saturday after last weekend's underwhelming performance. The only home team that lost last weekend was Mwamba RFC, who will be attempting to regain its respect. On the other hand, the boisterous home crowd will ferry Nakuru RFC to their win.

HOMEBOYZ RFC VS STRATHMORE LEOS – JAMHURI SHOWGROUND, 3PM

Both clubs are currently unblemished, so winning will require a strong play from each. The team led by Oscar Okaron defeated Mwamba last weekend in a remarkable victory, and they will be looking to build on that performance to earn their second victory of the year.

On the other hand, Strathmore Leos also managed a slim victory over MMUST and will be eager to duplicate, if not outdo, last weekend's performance. An epic battle is anticipated at the Jamhuri Grounds because both teams are separated by a goal differential.

Eric Shirley Shield matches will run concurrently with the Kenya Cup matches.
