KCB Rugby vs Kenya Harlequin

A 35-32 scoreline in favour of reigning champions KCB painted a clear picture of how tight the game between the two sides was and how narrow margins got the job done for the Bankers at the RFUEA grounds.

After an emphatic first half, Quins turned the tables and put up a revitalized second half masterclass that had KCB pondering about their next move for a long time. Quins registered 22 points in the second half against KCB’s 13. KCB would however showed their mettle late in the second half when Darwin Mukidza scored a penalty and Levy Amunga touched down a converted try that outdid all the second half brilliant display from Quins. However much they tried to push for something, KCB held on to win their sixth consecutive game against Quins since the 2018 season. That result left Quins still in search of their first win this season after losing their opening game to Oilers.

Blak Blad vs Menengai Oilers

A late try from Douglas Sifuna with a minute left to play was all Blak Blad needed as they fought their way back to force a 12-12 draw against Menengai Oilers at the RFUEA grounds on Saturday. Blad dominated the early proceedings but could not take advantage of their momentum as Oilers made them pay by scoring the first two tries of the game for a 12-0 lead. The varsity sides stayed patient and scored two tries through Humprey Litali who touched the first as Douglas Sifuna added the second with a minute left to play. Kelvin Gathu however failed to score the telling conversion that would have given Blad the lead for the first time in the game. Sadly, that failed conversion cued the full time whistle.

Strathmore Leos vs Kabras Sugar RFC.

Five converted tries were enough Kabras Sugar to do the damage as they handed Leos their second loss of the season after emerging 35-9 winners at the Impala Gounds. It is Strathmore who took an early 3-0 lead after Brunson Mudigu's penalty but Kabras quickly scratched that and took full control of the game winning 35-9.

Top Fry Nakuru vs MMUST

Away from Nairobi, Top Fry Nakuru proved too powerful for Kenya Cup debutatnts Masinde Muliro University, handing them a 23-10 defeat for their second consecutive defeat at the Nakuru Athletic Club.
