Teams have been using the tournament as pre-season.

The tourney drew rugby teams from the Western part of Kenya with the clubs using the tournament as pre-season ahead of the new 2022-2023 rugby season.

Kabras booked their ticket to the final after a hard fought 14-10 victory over Kisumu RFC and annihilated Mbale RFC 46-0 in the last eight of the tournament.

MMUST on the other hand overcame cross town rivals Western Bulls 29-10 in the semis and whitewashed Eldoret RFC 51-0 in the quarter finals.

The Millers and MMUST will be looking to win the trophy to head into the Kenya Cup season that kicks off on Saturday 26 November with a trophy.
