Reigning champions Kabras Sugar are expected to be one of the sides fighting for the title alongside regulars KCB and Menegai Oilers.
After over eight and a half months since the conclusion of the last campaign, the new 2022/2023 Kenya Cup season is scheduled to start on Saturday 26 November, Mozzart Sport can reveal.
Reigning champions Kabras Sugar are expected to be one of the sides fighting for the title once again after staging an impressive comeback last season to defeat Menengai Oilers 34-28 in the finale played at the Bull Ring in Kakamega for only their second title.
The Sugarmen will be looking to build on their five-year drought-ending campaign last season that also saw them claim the Enterprise Cup after knocking KCB 9-6 in the knockout tourney.
On the other hand, Curtis Olago’s KCB will be out to restore their damaged pride after completing the entire 2021/2022 season without any trophy to their name.

Gibson Weru’s Menengai Oilers will be out to build on their impressive campaign that saw finish second in the league as they also clinched a first major title by winning the 2022 National Sevens Series Circuit.
Three-time Kenya Cup champions Mean Machine, who have been absent for the last two seasons, will be making their return to the top flight after winning the Championship last season. The varsity side will be joined by Catholic Monks who finished second with the two replacing the relegated Impala Saracens and Nondescripts.
Strathmore Leos, Mwamba, Blak Blad, Nakuru RFC, Homeboyz and Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology and Kenya Harlequin will be the other teams in the Kenya Cup.
Elsewhere, the Impala Floodlit tournament which has been used as the curtain raiser for the 15’s season, will mark the start of the new Kenya Cup campaign when it makes a comeback after a two-year hiatus occasioned by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Organizers of the event announced the 38th edition of the tournament will take place on 29th October, 5th November and 12th of November at the Impala Club, Nairobi.
The second-tier Kenya Rugby Union Championship and third-tier Nationwide seasons are also set to kick off on Saturday 26 November with the Nondescripts and newly promoted Daystar Falcons headlining Week 1 fixtures.
