The Bankers are yet to concede a point this season.

Former Kenya Cup champions KCB RFC extended their 100% start to the season after putting Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) to the sword with a 41-0 win as head coach Curtis Olago reserved praise for his namesake Curtis Likalo and Darwin Mukidza.

Victory took KCB to joint top of the Kenya Cup standings but they sit below Menengai Oilers by virtue of an inferior point difference after both teams picked up bonus point wins in their opening two games.

Olago was impressed with his boys showing in the clash and singled out praise for his skipper Likalo and the ever-reliable fullback Mukidza whose experiences were on show in the game.

“The game of rugby is an oval ball, the ball can bounce on either side so you have to keep calm and reorganize every time and the boys did well.

Good leadership from Curtis and Darwin, we take it a step at a time, we are happy for this win and we keep grinding,” said Olago.

The Bankers are yet to concede a point this season despite coming up against Kenya Harlequins and MMUST having managed shutouts against the two teams.

Olago admitted that MMUST put them under pressure in the final minutes of the game and was coy about their preparations for their next clash against Homeboyz.

“We played well but we had to grind the last few minutes but we put in the good work early enough, this is another step in the journey, we are happy and we thank God for the win.

We will get to Nairobi and sort that out because we have to check a few injuries, we have to check a few guys who are coming back and the next game will sort itself out,” added Olago.
