The transfer window, which officially closed on Tuesday, 14 July, saw clubs across the country bolster their squads with a mix of experienced campaigners, university standouts and emerging talent as they prepare for the upcoming campaign.
Impala led the recruitment drive with 40 registered signings, according to the final transfer list released by the KRU.
Among the notable arrivals are former Kisumu RFC trio Benjamin Opar, Andrew Aswani, and Denzel Juma, former Catholic Monks forward Jordan Kang’ahi, ex-KU BlakBlad player Lincoln Agade and Mwamba RFC’s Linet Moraa.
The club also added a host of players from the non-professional ranks (NPR) to strengthen both its men’s and women’s squads.
Makueni Ravens followed with 33 new additions, making them the second most active club during the transfer period. The Machakos-based side reinforced its squad with players from Kenya Prisons, Catholic Monks and Northern Suburbs, while also recruiting heavily from the NPR pool.
Mwamba RFC ranked third with 29 signings. Their business included experienced additions such as Raynold Anduvate from Impala RFC, Abdul Malik and Sullivan Japaso from Strathmore Leos, alongside a sizeable intake from Multimedia University to strengthen their women’s team.
Western Bulls were the fourth busiest club after bringing in 23 players. Their recruitment featured Veron Odhiambo from Kisii RFC, Daniel Sumba from MMUST and Benedict Omondi from Kabras Sugar RFC, among others.
