Former Kenya Cup side Western Bulls have made a significant addition to their coaching staff, signing their former captain Allan Kasiti as their new coach ahead of the 2023/24 Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) Championship season.

Kasiti will move to the Bulls after an impressive season with Sigalagala RFC. He has been part of the Sigalagala coaching staff which has won back-to-back Western Region Nationwide titles.

In a statement seen by Mozzart Sport, the tactician was grateful for the time he shared with the students, noting that the lessons learned motivate him to be a better person. He also expressed his gratitude to the team's management for the incredible moments shared.

Today, I’m writing this message with mixed emotions. I’m leaving Sigalagala RFC for a new venture, which leaves me in a state of sadness and excitement.

Sadness because I’m leaving a club where I have spent most of my life. You taught me how to become a coach and a man. I would like to thank everyone at Sigalagala RFC management, Abnah Ijairu, Raphael Arnold, the team captain Benjamin Brill, and the staff for your support in helping me develop over the years. Also, to the players and the fans, you have become my second family, and I will never forget all the great memories that we have created and shared,” he revealed.

While he enjoyed his work at the club, Kasiti pointed out that he could not turn down the Western Bulls' offer, as it was a timely opportunity.

“However, I have been offered a fantastic opportunity that I couldn’t have turned down. Opportunities like this come very rarely, and I feel it’s time that I test myself in another environment,” he started.

My Excitement is because of my new venture with Western Bulls. This is truly a club with intelligent ambition to build the club structures not only for the immediate future but beyond. This is an exciting time for Western Bulls. I believe timing is everything in life, and I believe this is a great time to reconnect with the team that was once home for my playing unit, and I am looking forward to the challenge of the championship,” he added.

The World Rugby Level II accredited coach will be keen to guide the side back to the top tier following their relegation in 2020.

The Bulls will start their campaign with an away match against Coastal-based South Coast Pirates.
