2022 Driftwood 7s Pools confirmed

Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) has confirmed the pools for the upcoming Driftwood 7s tournament that is scheduled to take place at the Mombasa Sports Club on 18-19 June 2022.

The Driftwood 7s will be the third outing of the six legged 2022 National Sevens Circuit that already got underway with the season opening George Mwangi Kabeberi 7s being followed by the Christie 7s that took place this past weekend at the RFUEA Grounds.

In Mombasa, current national Sevens Circuit leaders Strathmore Leos are the first seeds in the tournament and will headline Pool A by virtue of emerging victorious in the second round at the Christie 7s. The Louis Kisia coached side will be hoping to build on their momentum as they battle with Impala Saracens, Homeboyz RFC and hosts Mombasa.

In Pool B, reigning national champions and Driftwood 7s title holders KCB are in will lock horns against Kabras Sugar, Daystar Falcons and JumiaPay Pirates while Menengai Oilers, Kenya Harlequin, Topfry Nakuru and Blak Blad make up Pool C.

Christie 7s surprise packages Western Bulls, who finished fourth at the second outing of the season are top seeds in a Pool D that also includes Mwamba, Nondescripts and Zetech Oaks who were promoted to the top division after winning the division two tournament at the Christie 7s.

The division two competition has attracted a total of 24 teams.
