The circuit will take a three-week break before resuming with the Driftwood 7s in Mombasa.
In an utterly entertaining final of 55th Christie 7s, Strathmore Leos outclassed KCB RFC 15-10 to clinch the second leg of the National Sevens Circuit staged at the RFUEA Grounds on Sunday 29 May.
Leos smelled blood right from the kick off and were the side that wanted it most as they limited the Bankers to few chances as they deservedly clinched the title to tie points with KCB on the overall standings.
This is after both teams got to the final of the Kabeberi 7s last weekend with KCB emerging winners via a narrow scoreline of 12-10 with Leos exerting revenge a week later.
Leos pressed their foot on the gas from the onset as they only needed two minutes to register their first try through Philemon Olang's kick thinking as he quicky scratched the ball and caught the KCB defense napping to touch down but Festus Safari missed the conversion.
With wind in their sails, Strathmore wasted little time in doubling their advantage as Barnabas Owuor ploughed through the try line to touch down but Safari again missed his kick.
KCB finally settled into the game and halved Strathmore's advantage through Jeffrey Okwach whose outstretched arm was enough to get the ball over the line.
Luis Kisia's charges however restored their 10-point advantage in the game when Mathew Mogaka squeezed through the right flank to touch down but again Safari could not find his kicking boots.
The second half was largely played inside KCB's 22-meter line but the Bankers finally got a breakthrough when Levy Amunga ran almost the entire length of the field evading the Leos players who were chasing hot on his heels to touch down.
Despite setting up a tense finale, Leos had the needed composure to see the game through and win the final.
