The Italian proved why he is currently the best player in the world, showing that the greatest tournament in tennis has become the stage where he thrives most
Jannik Sinner - Wimbledon winner!
After the disappointment at Roland Garros six weeks ago, the Italian managed to bounce back in London, winning back-to-back titles. In the final, he rallied from a set down to beat the French Open champion, Alexander Zverev, 3-1 (6-7(7), 7-6(2), 6-3, 6-4).
Back in Jannik's hands.

In Paris, Sinner was stunned by Juan Manuel Cerundolo in the second round, and the same fate could easily have awaited him at Wimbledon, as he came close to another early exit, trailing Miomir Kecmanovic by two sets to one before prevailing in five, again in the second round.
Once he overcame that tricky challenge, Sinner was unstoppable, dropping only one set on his way to the title - in the trophy match against Zverev.
Given that both players held serve comfortably in the first set, it went to a tie-break, in which the German saved a set point and then struck first - 9-7.
The second set followed the same script as the first, but this time the Italian held his nerve when it mattered most, winning the tie-break 7-2 to level the match.
The crowd at the Centre Court saw the first break in the eighth game of the third set, when Sinner took a decisive step towards taking the lead, although Zverev had missed a huge chance, wasting a break point just one game before.
With the momentum firmly on his side, Sinner exploited the mental edge to close out the match in four sets.
Defence complete.

This time, the seventh game proved decisive, as Zverev couldn't bounce back after conceding another break, which proved enough to hand Sinner a second straight Wimbledon title and show why he currently tops the ATP list.
This was Sinner's fifth Grand Slam trophy, while Zverev missed the chance to capture his second major title, just 35 days after winning his maiden one at Roland Garros.
