Kenya is out to clinch one of the two available slots from the zone and make a return to the continental stage after missing out for 13 years.
Wafalme got their campaign off to a spectacular start, taking the first set 25-21 in dominant fashion but struggled in the second set as Burundi led for the better part before the Kenyan side recovered for a 25-23 win.
The final set was probably the easiest for Wafalme who seemed to have settled in well and ruled the court for a 25-17 scoreline that gave them crucial three points ahead of their match against the hosts on Sunday.
