The performance saw her bag two key awards at the conclusion of the season, being named Most Valuable Player (MVP) as well as the league's best attacker.
Police won their first national league championship after a hard-fought victory over APR in four sets (25-23, 20-25, 25-23, 25-22) in Game Three of the best-of-three final series on Sunday, 11 May.
National team setter Iris Ndagijimana orchestrated precise plays for hitters Catherine Ainembabazi and Sande to secure victory, coming from behind to deny their nemesis, who had won Game One.
In the men's league, another former Prisons ace, Dennis Esokon, led Sammy Mulinge's APR to the men's title, his contribution landing him the coveted MVP gong.
He was joined by another Kenyan and former teammate, Elphas Makuto, now with Police Rwanda, on the award list, the latter taking home the best attacker award, but could not beat Mulinge's APR to the title.
APR's victory capped off a stellar season that included a Zone V triumph and a fourth-place finish at the African Club Championship, notably overcoming Police, who had finished the regular season as top seeds.
