Next action is set for 23 to 26 at the WRC Safari Rally in Naivasha.
Division three and Two Wheel Drive (2WD) top contender Leonardo Varese is looking forward to the upcoming second half of the 2022 Kenya National Rally Championship (KNRC)season with great expectations.
Varese maintained his lead on both classes, returning his Toyota Auris 2WD to a credible sixth overall position during last weekend's Eldoret Rally won by Karan Patel.

Having maintained a clean finishing record in the four events held so far, the driver is only looking at making the 75% entry threshold to be declared champion in 2WD.
Navigated by Kigo Kareithi, the crew also extended their lead in Division 3 and are well on their way to securing that title too if current form is anything to go by.
“The team did a really good job in Eldoret. It is more than what we were expecting. I am grateful to everyone in the team for a great outing in The Home of Champions. The organising team from East African Safari Rally gave us great routes and scenery up the Cherangani Hills.
We managed to bring back our Two Wheel Drive Toyota Auris 1600cc to a credible sixth overall position and most importantly, kept our 100% finish record intact which we are looking to maintain," said Varese.
The KNRC is traditionally an all-gravel Championship, but organizers deviated from the norm to offer crews something exciting and unique by incorporating a tarmac section.
"The tarmac stage was good, but our brakes kind of heated up a little bit. But it is always great to experience something new for a change.Overall, everything ran well and we got a little rain up Cherangani but just enough to give us the much-needed traction, so it was real fun on our descents and ascents," Varese offered.
His close competitor Rio Smith who missed the first two events of the series picked 30 points at the Africa Rally Championship (ARC) Equator Rally to trail the leaders by 24 points heading to Eldoret.
In Division 3, Varese headed to Eldoret leading the class with 78 points while close competitors Zameer Verjee and Smith tied at 30 points.
