The league holders are using the league as part of preparations for CAVB Club Championships set for May in Tunisia.

Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) women's league champions Kenya Pipeline continued their good showing in this weekend's league played at Nyayo Indoor Arena.

Up against new entrants Nairobi Water who are making a return to the league after several years in the cold as well as Kenya Army the holders dominated both matches for maximum points.

In the four matches played so far this season, the Paul Gitau-led oil merchants have only lost one set to hard-fighting Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

In their first match of the weekend against Water, the holders went ahead 25-12 in the first set, but the second one was closer with Gitau's charges winning 29-19.

Keen not to go down without a fight, Water kept fighting but were no match for Pipeline who closed the match with a 25-17 set.

Gitau's charges had an even easier time in their second match of the weekend against the Kahawa-based military side picking a 3-0 (25-12, 25-16 and 25-14)

In another matches, former champions Prisons Kenya saw off Vernon Kainga-led Postbank Volleyball Club in straight-sets in Saturday match.

The Josp Barasa-coached side won the match 3-0 (25-17, 25-12, 25-12) for maximum point and an extension of their unbeaten streak this season before their clash against KCB on Sunday afternoon.

Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), meanwhile saw off Prisons Nairobi in a five-set clash. The military side won the first set 25-14 but the wardresses returned the favour with a 21-25 comeback set.

KDF won the third set 25-18 but were unable to kill the game in the fourth set, going down 13-25 to set the stage for a decider set that they won 15-08.
