Team Kenya in Japan for 3x3 Universality Olympic Qualifying Tournament

Kenya is in Pool B with Canada, Netherlands and Australia
Natalie Akinyi, the African 3x3 most valuable player (MVP) will captain Team Kenya in their quest to qualify for the Paris Olympics.
The Evelyne Kedogo-led African champions are set for tough battles at the FIBA 3x3 Universality Olympic Qualifying Tournament 2 (UOQT2) to be held at Utsunomia, Japan from 3 to 5 May.
Kedogo will have a mix of youth and experience with Victoria Reynolds joining the squad that did duty at the African competition that crowned the side champions for a chance to play in the UOQT2. Hilda Indasi travels as a substitute player.
"The team has been in a 14-days camp in Miramas, France courtesy of National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOC-K) and the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports. They departed early 30 April, from Marseille, France to Japan.
They also spent 10 days in France in March playing top European teams and participated in two stops of the four-stop French Pro League.
Other preparations included a one week high performance training in Hammamet, Tunisia in January organized by FIBA Africa and Serbia 3x3 Academy," a statement from the federation reads.
The UOQT 2 will have eight men and a similar number of women's teams where one team from each gender will qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Men: Egypt,Portugal, Mongolia, Netherlands, France, Puerto Rico, Japan, Egypt, Brazilian.
Women: Germany, Canada, Netherlands, Japan, Austria, Australia, Kenya, Brazil.
