Kajetan Kajetanowicz has confirmed his return to the FIA World Rally Championship in 2025, with the Polish driver set to mount a full WRC2 Challenger campaign aboard a Toyota GR Yaris Rally2.
The ORLEN Rally Team driver has been a mainstay in the WRC’s support categories in recent years, securing six consecutive top-three championship finishes.
Now, with the backing of Polish motorsport specialists Rallylab Technology, he is eyeing fresh success behind the wheel of Toyota’s latest Rally2 contender.
Kajetanowicz and long-time co-driver Maciej Szczepaniak will kick off their season at Safari Rally Kenya from Thursday 20 to Sunday 23 March, an event where they have an unbeaten record with three wins from three starts.
“We are starting another World Rally Championship season, full of challenges but also new opportunities,” said Kajetanowicz. “We chose a new car, the Toyota GR Yaris Rally2, prepared by our local tuner, Rallylab Technology.
I believe that our strong Polish team will be able to fight in what is always a very competitive WRC2 Challenger field. Switching to a new car is a big change, but it’s also a chance to improve and that’s what matters to me most.”
The WRC2 Challenger category is open to drivers who have not previously won a WRC-level title in Rally2 machinery, and Kajetanowicz will take on a seven-round programme - the maximum permitted under championship regulations.
Following Safari Rally, his calendar will include a mix of gravel and asphalt events, with further details to be confirmed in due course.
“I’m happy that we get another chance after six seasons of top-three finishes in the world championship,” he added. “It would not be possible without the support of our partners, led by title partner ORLEN S.A., technical partner Delphi and ORLEN Oil.
These cooperations are based on longstanding trust. I want to thank these companies for allowing me to do what I love. I will do my best to return the favour with my motivation, involvement and, of course, results."
Kajetanowicz’s Toyota GR Yaris Rally2 livery remains under wraps for now, but a full reveal is expected in the coming weeks.
