Butali are still unbeaten thus far in the league

The Kenya Hockey Union men's Premier League title hopefuls Butali Warriors will be looking to open a nine-point gap the top of the standings when they lock horns with Western Jaguars on Saturday at the City Park Stadium.

Butali sit at the apex with 29 points, six ahead of former champions Kenya Police who will not be in action today and will be looking to beat the visitors and enhance their chances of winning the title.

The sugarmen who are unbeaten this season played the third placed Jaguars to a one-all draw in the first leg staged in Kakamega and head to the game aware of their giant killing prowess.

Jaguars trail Butali by thirteen points and may as well eat the gap to seven should they win the two matches in hand. Before then, the club will be hoping to end Butali's unbeaten run.

The game will be preceded by another men's top tier clash pitting the 2016 champions Strathmore University will play Greensharks.

In the ladies category, the bottom placed Amira Sailors will tackle log leaders Strathmore University while Sliders will host the Kisumu based Lakers. Both matches will be played at City Park.

Meanwhile, the men's Super League toppers Sikh Union will host Wazalendo Masters at the Dashmesh Stadium while Mvita XI have a date with Kenyatta University Vultures at the Aryans grounds.

Two nationwide matches will also be played today where Nandi Hawks will host Kisii Falcons in Kapsabet while Daystar University will play Mombasa West at the Strathmore grounds.
