Serbian ace brushes aside the Spaniard 2-0 (6-1, 6-4) in the second round of the Olympic tennis tournament
It was not a medal-worth win, but much more than that. Novak Djokovic defeated Rafael Nadal 2-0 (6-1, 6-4) on Monday in the Paris Olympics second round at the iconic Philippe Chatrier stadium, where the Spaniard has won his 14 Roland Garros titles.
The Serb ace was dominating the match - brushing Nadal aside in the first set in sensational fashion - before a couple of his own mistakes allowed struggling Nadal to return in the second set. After 4-0 for Djokovic, the Spanish veteran bounced back remarkably and revived some of that old magic on Parisian clay to level the score, 4-4.

The crucial was that ninth game which followed, as Novak managed to make the most of his fourth break point for a 5-4 lead.
The Paris Olympics first-seeded player served an ace for the win, thus sending Nadal home after just two rounds.
Still, there's a long way to go for Djokovic, who needs to win four more matches in order to win the gold medal, the only piece of silverware missing in his long and astonishing career.
