
Organisers call off Autocross 4 for safety reasons

Competitors were expected to lock horns for points towards the Autocross Championships.
Organisers of the fourth round of the Kenya National Autocross Championship which was slated for Twisty Corners racetrack in Kiambu on Sunday 24 April were forced to call the event off for safety reasons.
Competitors were expected to lock horns for points towards the Autocross Championship in different categories but the heavy rains being experienced led to the cancellation. A date for the event will be communicated later.
"The Stewards, having received a report from the Clerk of the Course and the organisers have considered the following matter and determine the following; The overnight rains have resulted in muddy conditions and some impassable areas on the track and the route into and out of thevenue.
This would hinder the ambulance from attending any emergencies AND entry & exit of the ambulance to take any casualties to a hospitalThe decision us to postpone the event due to “serious safety reasons’, under the authority of Art 11.9.3.l of the FIA International Sporting Code and Art.7.5 of Appendix C of the KMSF Sporting Regulations.
The Autocross Commission with consultation with the Kenya Motorsport Federation (KMSF) Motorsport Council will schedule and publish a new date for this event," read the decision.
Open Class leader Rajveer Thethy was expected to renew track rivalry with his father Charan Thethy who sits second on the log after the first three races.
Other drivers who were to fight for a share of championship points in respective classes include Two Wheel Drive Non-Turbo Junior Class leader Neel Gohil who was to take on Amaan Ganatra, Yuvraj Rajput and Amraj Malle.
Gurraj Singh is the man to beat in Two Wheel Drive Non-Turbo Class. When the new date is announced, he will be up against Manveer Ghale, Ankush Shah and Rahul Patel.
Bambino Class leader Karamveer Singh Rooprai will renew his rivalry with Kiana Rajput, Eann Bengi and Saad Shamil Farouq.
