The bankers are the African Club champions and are looking to defend the title in May.
KCB women's volleyball team lost by straight sets to Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) women's league bronze medalists Prisons Kenya in their second leg action staged at Nyayo last weekend.
The warders were a totally different team from the side that featured in the January playoffs and the win against the bankers was clear testament of a side that has put the slump behind them.

For the bankers, the loss coming at a time when they are readying for their title defense of the CAVB Club Championships set for Tunisia in May, has head coach Japeth Munala worried.
“Prisons played very well and that exposed our weaknesses. We were unable to respond to their game plan. Additionally, we had very poor service that saw us lose crucial points. Our defense was also poor and we gave Prisons easy penetration.
That match helped us learn a lot about the team and as we resume training, we have a game plan of what we are to work on. The team chemistry needs some work, on top of the tactical aspects,” Munala offered.
The tactician revealed that complacency played a part in the team’s loss to Prisons as well admitting that it was a tough lesson for the playing unit to take all matches seriously.
“Before the match, I had warned my players against taking this match lightly simply because we beat Prisons in our last meeting during the playoffs but they clearly were complacent.
That and all the other aspects that need working on will be handled in a team building event on the weekend that will help us heal from this loss and talk over our misgivings in that loss and in the season," coach Munala explained.
This was KCB's first loss of the season and Munala is confident they will bounce back and restore as preparations for the continental championship intensify.
