KVF women's fifth leg postponed

Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) women's teams will face off next week at the Nyayo Indoor Arena after their fifth leg was moved to 14 June. 

Initially, fixtures secretary Ismael Chege had released a four-day schedule for matches that were supposed to serve off on Tuesday 7 June thorough to Friday 10 June at the same venue.

Barasa confident of wardresses' title defence

A source told Mozzart Sport that the changes were effected at the request of teams that had just returned from the Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) women's club championship held in Tunisia. 

The three sides, champions KCB, bronze medalist Kenya Pipeline and fifth-place finishers Kenya Prisons returned to the country on 2 June and would have had only four days to prepare for the fifth leg. 

"The fixtures remain the same, unless the technical meeting set for 14 June before the leg serves off agrees on changes. The leg will be held between 14 and 17 June," offered the source. 

According to the released fixtures, holders Kenya Prisons are set to play Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) on Tuesday before taking on KCB on Wednesday, in a match that will be a repeat of the CAVB quarters.

The Josp Barasa-led wardresses will then take on Kenya Pipeline on Thursday before playing Vihiga on the final day of action. 

KCB, on their part, play Kenya Army before facing Kenya Prisons and Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) on Wednesday and Thursday. Friday will have Japhet Munala's charges take on Kenya Pipeline in a repeat of the CAVB semis clash.
