The dockers have suffered one defeat at home to Ulinzi Warriors and are looking to keep their record clean onwards.

Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) men's league former champions Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) play away in Eldoret, hosted by Eldonets in the latter's first home match of the season.

The Sammy Kiki- coached dockers are coming off 38-50 and 37-43 victories against Strathmore University Blades and Umoja respectively last weekend and are looking to extend their winning run against the shaky Eldonets.

Maurice Ouma's charges, Eldonets have picked two wins in five matches, their first victory a hard-fought 68-66 outcome away to Lakeside back in March before the league action was suspended. Thier second win came last month up against Kenya College of Accountancy- University ( KCA-U) in a 38-48 scoreline.

"We now have the momentum, having played last weekend and we will go all out for this win. After getting to Eldoret we played a friendly match with one of the local teams, just to feel the court and we are good to go,"

"Since coming back from Malawi for a tournament there, we went for almost a month without playing and that affected our form. It was evident we struggled to win last weekend. We made some bad decisions on the floor and our defence was not the best but we have since worked on that," said KPA's assistant captain Martin Kitong'o

Meanwhile, Eldonets who are looking to do better than their debut season where they reached the playoffs but were eliminated in the quarters have their work cut out.

"We are ready for the match and happy to be playing home for the first time this season. We anticipate a tough match and have prepared with that in mind. We are not letting them have it easy on our backyard. We have the full squad and that gives us the depth to face a side as strong as KPA. We know they are beatable and we are going for the win," said Eldonets captain James 'Tyson' Ongwae

In Kisumu, Lakeside host Equity Bank while their women counterparts Kisumu Ladybucks take on women's league holders Equity Hawks. The bankers' technical director and overall head coach David Maina exuded confidence in his teams leaving the city of Kisumu with maximum points.

"My teams have improved with each match. I was very impressed with how the women's team performed against KPA last weekend. Each player stepped up and we won the match, albeit in extra period. They maintained their calm under pressure and I expect the same from the teams in the Kisumu assignment," Maina offered.
