Kenya Volleyball Federation set playoff dates but venue still a headache

Four teams clash in a round-robin format with the winner crowned champion.
Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) fixtures secretary Ismael Chege has released the order of matches for the men's playoff.
Four teams clash in the round-robin playoff set for Friday 22 to Sunday 24 July with the venue yet to be revealed even as the Chege rules out Kasarani and Nyayo Indoor Arenas.
"Kasarani has been booked fully for the period we will hold the trials while Nyayo is also unavailable on Saturday and Sunday, in addition to not being ideal for the playoffs.
Consultations are ongoing with the relevant stakeholders and the venue will be announced in good time for teams to prepare," Chege offered.
Defending champions General Service Unit (GSU) open their title defence campaign with a clash against former champions Prisons Kenya in a repeat of the final league match played on Sunday 3 July.
Coach Gideon Tarus will then guide his charges against newbies Trailblazers who have made it to the last four at their first time of asking in a clash set for Saturday.
The Geoffrey Omondi-led Trailblazers go up against Sammy Mulinge's Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) on Friday. The dockers face Prisons Kenya on Saturday.
The final day of action will see Trailblazers face off with the warders as coach David Lugh'aho looks to end a five-year trophy drought and stop Tarus' league dominance.
The final match pits GSU against their regular league tomentors KPA. The latter subjected the holders to their only league defeat this season. Mulinge's charges in return lost to Prisons a day after, both team loses beingbin straight sets.
