The Kenya Hockey 5’s men’s national team conducted their first training session early in the morning on Monday, January 22nd, in Muscat, Oman, ahead of the inaugural FIH Hockey 5’s World Cup scheduled from January 28th to 31st, 2024.
The team is set to engage in a series of friendly matches as part of their preparation for the competition. Moses Ademba, one of the senior players in the Hockey 5's men's national team, expressed his profound honor at being chosen to represent his country on the global stage, particularly in the upcoming Hockey 5's World Cup.
Ademba, who currently plays for the league leaders Butali Warriors, spoke passionately about the privilege of donning his national colors, emphasizing the significance of the World Cup tournament.
"It's always an honor to be selected to represent the country, especially now with this being the World Cup. It's an opportunity I don't take for granted, and I am elated," he remarked with evident enthusiasm, highlighting the gravity of the occasion and his deep sense of national pride.
He went on to provide insights into the team's preparations, painting a positive picture of the lead-up to the tournament.
"The preparations have been excellent: good training, top coaching, and eye-opening friendlies," he stated. Looking ahead with determination, Ademba made the team's ambitions clear. "We are going for gold, nothing short," he declared.
