At stake are top honours and coveted qualification slots for the Series Grand Finale, scheduled for November at the same venue.
The NCBA Golf Series has continued to draw strong participation across the country, offering club golfers an opportunity to earn their place in the season-ending showcase featuring winners and standout performers from all qualifying events.
Elsewhere, the spotlight on the Kenya Amateur Golf Championship (KAGC) circuit shifts to Kakamega Sports Club, which will host the NCBA Goldfields Trophy from Friday to Sunday.
The three-day tournament has attracted a strong field of 66 golfers from Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda and Burundi, all vying for the title, crucial KAGC Order of Merit points, and a share of the Ksh500,000 prize purse.
Kenya's charge will be spearheaded by Kiambu Open champion John Kamaisi, NCBA Ronald Marshall & Toby Gibson Matchplay winner Elvis Muigua, Golf Park's Josphat Rono, Amos Odongo, Ken Serem and home favourite Cedric Konzolo.
Regional rivals are also expected to mount a strong challenge. Rwanda will be represented by Hitayezu Jean D'Amour, Felix Dusabe, Alain Niyonkuru and Jacques Byiringiro, while Uganda's hopes rest on Abraham Olupot, Robert Masaba, Ben Okanya and Lawrence Okwii. Burundi's sole representative will be Salum Nkurunziza.
A new champion is guaranteed this year following the departure of two-time winner John Lejirma to the professional ranks. Lejirma dominated the event in 2024 and 2025 before turning professional earlier this year.
The tournament follows last week's NCBA Ruiru Open, where Muthaiga Golf Club's Eugene Wafula captured his maiden KAGC title after posting a tournament total of two-under-par 217, edging John Kamaisi by a single stroke.
NCBA Group Managing Director John Gachora reaffirmed the bank's commitment to growing the sport across all levels.
“This weekend showcases the breadth of golf development in Kenya. While the NCBA Golf Series continues to provide club golfers with opportunities to compete and qualify for the Grand Finale, the NCBA Goldfields Trophy offers some of the region's leading amateur golfers a platform to earn ranking points and advance their development.
We are encouraged by the continued growth in participation across both circuits and remain committed to supporting the game at every level.”
Both events form part of NCBA's wider golf sponsorship programme, which supports junior, amateur, professional and club golf, underscoring the bank's long-term commitment to developing the sport in Kenya and across the region.
