His first contest will be against Malawi's Dickson Saidi on 1 September before fighting Uganda's Kenneth Lukyamuzi on 7 September
Kenyan boxer Rayton “Boom Boom” Okwiri is poised for two fights in seven days, all scheduled for next month.
Mozzart Sport can confirm that the 38-year-old 2019 African Boxing Union [ABU] middleweight champion will first travel to Mauritius for his first fight with Malawi’s Dickson Saidi on 1 September, before returning to Nairobi for a 7 September clash with Uganda’s Kenneth “De Mexico” Lukyamuzi.
Okwiri, who boasts a record of 12-1-1, and is unbeaten in his last four fights, last fought on 6 June in HuaLien, securing a fourth-round stoppage victory over Malawi’s Limbani Chikapa.

He will be out again in the island nation for a four-round middleweight bout with Saidi, 5-8-1, which will act as a tune-up fight for his main fight back in Nairobi’s Charter Hall.
Okwiri will be in the last of four undercard fights in the card billed Clash Of The Giants, taking on 45-year-old Lukyamuzi, whose record stands at 7-8-1.
Lukyamuzi has himself been a busy boxer, recently defeating Busoga’s 25-year-old Philly Musene.
“Training has been great since my last fight in Nairobi,” Okwiri said in a brief phone interview. “My body feels the greatest it's ever been, and you know how we roll. Expect me to win both fights.”
The non-title middleweight fight will curtain-raise the showcase event between Kenya’s Morris Okolla and South Africa’s Ruann Visser.
A product of Solid Rock Promotions, the fight night will be live on pay-per-view on millions.co.
More details on how to access tickets selling at Ksh. 1000 regular and Ksh. 2500 will be made available in the days leading up to the event.
