Kenya’s other representatives Adan Wario dropped out due to injury while Gilbert Alikula was eliminated in the preliminaries.

Kenya's top Deaf golfer Isaac Makokha remains in contention for a medal at the ongoing 24th Deaflympics in Caxias Do Sul, Brazil despite exiting in the semi-finals.

He will now face off with Guldan Nico of Germany in the bronze playoff Caxias Golf Club.

Makokha lost to another German John Allen, the World champion and a double Deaflympics champion.

In the quarter-finals the VetLab Golf Club golfer eliminated Nielsen Lasse to qualify for the semis that Team Kenya golf head coach Vincent Wang'ombe described as tough.

“He gave his best but the German player performed better. We lost the match but we still have a chance to play for bronze,” said Wang’ombe.

The golfer said he was okay in the morning but expected that the semifinal would be played in the afternoon.

"Playing in the morning caught me off guard. The weather also affected me because it rained heavily. This competition also has very strong participants, compared to the last edition and I have learnt some lessons from them,” said Makokha.

Kenya’s other representative Adan Wario dropped out due to injury while Gilbert Alikula was eliminated, finishing 18th.
