The Kenyan handball fraternity has been thrown into mourning following the tragic death of National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) handball player Hous Baptishe, who lost his life in a road accident in French Guiana.

In a heartfelt statement, the NCPB Handball Club expressed its profound sorrow over the untimely passing of their teammate, describing him as a passionate and dedicated player whose contribution to the club extended beyond the handball court.
"The NCPB handball family extends its deepest condolences to the family of Hous Baptishe, his friends, teammates, and the entire Kenya handball community following his heartbreaking loss through a car accident in French Guiana," the club said.
The club paid tribute to Baptishe's commitment to the sport, noting that although his time with the team was brief, he left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of playing and working alongside him.
"His passion, commitment, and love for the game will always be remembered. Though his time with us was far too short, the impact he made on and off the court will remain in our hearts forever," the statement added.
Baptishe was a member of the NCPB side competing in the Kenyan Premier League, where he was admired for his dedication, professionalism, and team spirit.
His sudden death has left teammates, supporters, and the wider handball community devastated.
As tributes continue to pour in, the club prayed for strength and comfort for his family and all those grieving his loss.
"May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may God grant strength and comfort to everyone mourning this great loss. Rest in peace, Hous. You will always be remembered as a proud member of the NCPB handball family."
