The fifth league leg is set for Tuesday 7 June through to 10 June.

Despite their performance at the just concluded Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) women's club championship, coach Josp Barasa is not a worried man.

The tactician guided the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) women's league champions to a fifteenth-place finish at the continental championship, losing to eventual winners KCB in the quarters to be relegated to the fifth-place playoff.

"I am not worried about our performance. That was just a slip up. Having fielded a relatively young squad that had two debutants, I am happy that they gained the much needed experience for the coming league action as we work towards qualifying for the playoffs," offered Barasa.

Next week, the fifth women's leg gets underway at Nyayo where Barasa is hoping to guide his charges past four opponents over four days.

On the first day, Tuesday 7 June, the wardresses have a date with Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) before facing African champions KCB on Wednesday.

Prisons face former champions and continental bronze medalists Kenya Pipeline on Thursday before completing their fifth leg action against Vihiga Queens.

"We have not had much time to rest but the few days we have had since returning we have spent working on our basics, mostly reception and service which were our main undoing at the continental level.

We have also urged the squad to remain focused and ensure that we keep our concentration in every match, taking it one game at a time," added Barasa.

The fifth leg will see two younsters from Kwanthanze make their top tier league debut, having been in action at the club championship.
