Barca's kid makes his maiden appearance and finds the back of the net for the Red Fury at 16 years and 57 days in a 7-1 away victory

What a Friday night for Lamine Yamal! Not only did the super-talented Barcelona forward of African origins make his debut for Spain - thus breaking the record for being the youngest ever to play for the Red Fury - but he netted, too, at just 16 years and 57 days!

It all happened in a mind-blowing 7-1 away victory against Georgia in the EURO 2024 qualifiers, as Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's side suffered an excruciating loss to inspired European giants.

The rising Barca star has already smashed through two huge Blaugrana records in 2023, becoming the youngest player to appear and later to start a league game for the club.

Those two records came on either side of his 16th birthday in July, and he has now set a new benchmark at the national level in Tbilisi.

Spain boss Luis de la Fuente opted to bring him on just before half-time, with Spain leading 4-0.

At 16 years and 57 days old, Yamal has replaced La Blaugrana teammate Gavi as the youngest Spain senior international by a gap of five days.
