WPL returns as Kibera Soccer vs Madira highlights packed Saturday schedule

The FKF Women Premier League (WPL) is approaching the homestretch with round 17 matches set to take place over this weekend beginning with four matches scheduled for today, Saturday 21 February.

As the league continues, defending champions Kenya Police Bullets, despite being inactive in three rounds are at the top of the league table with 31 points, one more than Vihiga Queens as Ulinzi Starlets complete the top three with 29 points.

The relegation zone has Kisped Queens at last with -2 points with Kisumu All Starlets and Gideon Starlets occupying the other slots with 2 and 16 points respectively.

Kibera Soccer Women vs Madira Soccer Assassins

FKF Cup defending champions Kibera Soccer Women will welcome Madira Soccer Assasins at the Hope Center grounds in Kawangware from 1600 hrs in the day’s biggest highlight.

Kibera have been on the rise after starting the season poorly and are currently sixth on the log with 22 points while Madira are just a place above the red zone with 19 points.

Both sides will be targeting three points that will move them up the table, Kibera targeting a top three finish, while Madira are seeking to retain their league status.

Kisped Queens vs Kayole Starlets

League newbies Kayole Starlets are still enduring a tough spell in the second leg after losing to Kibera in their last match.

However, they will have a chance to return to winning ways when they face bottom placed Kisped Queens at the Mamboleo Stadium in Kisumu from 1500 hrs as they aim to improve on their seventh position.

Gideon Starlets vs Bungoma Queens

Gideon Starlets’ quest to retain their league status will face the test of Bungoma Queens at the Mawego Polytechnic from 1300 hrs.

With just three points separating them with Madira in the safety area, Gideon will be out to secure a win at home against Bungoma who are eighth with 20 points.

Zetech Sparks vs Kisumu All Starlets

In the other match of the day, varsity side Zetech Sparks will face off with Kisumu Allstarlets at the Zetech University, Mang’u campus from noon.
