Only four WPL matches were scheduled for this weekend because of the international break where Harambee Starlets will play friendlies against Algeria.
In turn, clubs that contributed two or more players to the national team were excused from this weekend's action.
Ahead of today's match, Kenya Police Bullets remain at the summit of the league table with 15 points. Trinity Starlets are second with 13 points, two more than Vihiga Queens who complete the top three.
The bottom of the league is a Nyanza affair as Kisumu All Starlets are last with a single point, same to Kisped Queens with Gideon Starlets occupying the other relegation slot with three points to their name.
Kayole head into today's match on the back of a loss to Kibera Soccer Women in their last match which was preceded by a draw away to Bungoma Queens.
The mixed start to the season has left the team at sixth on the log standings with seven points and they will be keen to return to winning ways against Kisped.
“We have been playing well and sometimes unlucky to get the win because of not converting our chances. We have therefore maintained the plan to play possession-based football and have also worked on our finishing to help us kill off games,” Kayole head coach Mary Busu told the club’s media.
Kayole will miss the services of Ashley Shilwatso who is away with the national team but will be glad to have Lindah Kihara fully fit.
As for Kisped, the match offers yet another opportunity to secure their first win of the season even as they seek to end their dalliance with relegation zone.
A win for the Kisumu-based side will see them leapfrog Gideon Starlets who lost 2-1 to Bungoma Queens on Saturday, 22 November.
