WPL: Draws galore as Thika Queens miss second place

Women Premier League (WPL) race for a better finish continued on Sunday with Thika Queens throwing away their chance to reclaim third place after playing for a draw against Trans Nzoia Falcons. 

The outgoing champions, as Vihiga Queens have already secured this season's title, found themselves trailing 0-2 early on in the match courtesy of a Noel Aruko brace. 

Rebecca Akinyi pulled one back for Thika in the 33rd minute for the match to head to the break with Benta Achieng's charges trailing. 

It took Thika 23 minutes in the second half to restore parity, and avoid a fifth loss, through Wendy Achieng who has been an integral part of the side since joining in the second half of the season. 

Meanwhile, Zetech Sparks who had a chance to move to 33 points failed to score against Wadadia to maintain fifth place at 31 points. 

Wadadia remain sixth, despite their draw, at 30 points, four ahead of Nakuru Queens who won 1-0 on Saturday against Kayole Starlets.
