Ahead of today's match, Ulinzi Starlets are at the summit of the league table with 38 points, having secured a 1-0 victory over league newbies Madira Soccer Assassins on Sunday, 22 March, courtesy of a 46th-minute strike by Rising Starlets forward Elizabeth Mideva.
Police are second with 37 points, while Gilgil-based Trinity Starlets close the top three with 34 points to their name.
At the bottom of the log lies Police’s today's opponents, Kisumu Allstarlets, with -4 points.
The lakeside club had negative points after they were deducted six points thanks to two walkovers.
Allstarlets, who are yet to win a single match this season, are joined in the relegation zone by neighbours Kisped Queens with -2 points and Gideon Starlets with 17 points to make the red zone a Nyanza affair.
Today's clash brings two clubs with the same ambition, three points, but with different motivations.
Police will be seeking maximum points to boost their title chances, while Allstarlets will be out to bag the first win of the campaign.
Police are enjoying a great run of form, having won their past eight matches, including two walkovers from Kisped Queens.
The Law Enforcers are yet to suffer a defeat this year.
They last lost a match on 7 December 2025 when they were gunned down 1-0 by Ulinzi Starlets.
The match today provides Police not only with an opportunity to return to the summit of the league table, but also to increase their goal difference, which currently stands at 39, 18 more than Ulinzi Starlets.
