Benedict Moerane made it 2-0 in a friendly, which ended in the Crocodiles' 2-1 win

Over the years, we've seen many interesting, awkward, bizarre goals in Africa and the rest of the world, but the one coming today from Ethiopia tops it all.

It was a friendly between the home nation and Lesotho, and the Crocodiles celebrated a 2-1 away win. Lesotho's striker Sera Mothebang scored the opener in the 34th minute.

But the moment of the game and the entire Thursday in terms of international football happened nine minutes later. The visitors' captain and custodian, Benedict Moerane, decided to take a long shot, firing almost from his own area.

And - believe it or not - Moerane scored! Sensational footage of his screamer went viral, as his Ethiopian counterpart Said Habtamu made headlines for all the wrong reasons.
