Wolves get caught in De Zerbi's brutal trap, pale L'pool come from behind to win

Mac Allister and Caicedo left Brighton, but the Seagulls don't seem to be hurt at all. Their football is mesmerizing

What a fantastic story Roberto De Zerbi's Brighton and Hove Albion truly is! In almost every transfer window, they say goodbye to a handful of the pivotal players (like Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister in the latest one), and yet they not only survive but somehow manage to be - even better!

After bulldozing the newly-promoted Luton Town in the opening Premier League round 4-1 at home, De Zerbi's mean machine guillotined Wolves at Moulinex the very same way and the with the same outcome, 4-1. That way, the Seagulls have deservedly reached the top of the table, displaying a mouth-watering football on the way.

Led by an impeccable duo Estupinan-Mitoma, the visitors stormed to a 4-0 lead, taking no prisoners. The Japanese forward netted an opener after a jaw-dropping solo run, probably earning a nomination for the Goal of the round.

After going 1-0 up, the guests decided to sit back a bit, and opted for brutal yet simple counter-attacks. This approach was rewarded with not less than three almost carbon copy goals as Estupinan and Marsch (two times) trashed the Wolves' clueless defence.

Albeit the final 3-1 tells a different story, Liverpool had to dig deep to survive Bournemouth's challenge at Anfield. It took the Cherries only three minutes to get in front, thanks to Semenyo's resolute strike. However, that sensational didn't last too long, as Luis Diaz levelled the score with a clever volley near the half-hour mark. Mo Salah made it 2-1 after missing the penalty but pouncing smoothly on the ball following the keeper's save.

Despite Mac Allister's second-half red card, the Reds kept pushing for the third and finally achieved it through Diogo Jota. Altogether, it was far from an impressive performance for Jurgen Klopp's side.
