The Brewers will return to continental football following their Mozzart Bet Cup triumph

2026 Mozzart Bet Cup winners Tusker FC have announced plans to stage their next season's CAF Confederation Cup (CAF CC) matches at Kwale Stadium if the facility is cleared.

Tusker secured their return ticket to continental tourney following their 2-1 win over Kenya Police FC in the Cup final held on Sunday at the same facility.

The stadium's playing surface and other features did not unnoticed as Tusker chairman, Charles Gacheru, confirmed the club is considering the facility as an option for home matches.

“I am really impressed by this facility (Kwale Stadium). We have already written to the County Government of Kwale to allow us to use this stadium for our upcoming CAF matches,” said Gacheru.

Gacheru went ahead to reveal why the club made the decision to opt for the coastal sporting facility.

“It is such a good facility, located far from Nairobi which I believe should be utilized more by teams. Its playing surface is also good and conducive for any team.

Additionally, there is a need to take football to every corner of the country and I believe this would be our chance to also market the team in the Coast,” he added.

In the past, Tusker devolved their league matches as at some point, they shifted their home base to Kinoru Stadium in Meru County where they enjoyed some massive following.

It remains to be seen whether Kwale Stadium will get the approval to host continental matches as a section of it is still under construction.

Some of the areas the County Government of Kwale is seeking to fix or improve on are: floodlights, warm up area, perimeter fence among others.

Meanwhile, Tusker will turn their attention to strengthening the squad ahead of their return to continental football.

The club last featured at the big stage in 2021 following their league triumph in the 2020-2021 season under coach Robert Matano.
