The Kenyan's contract with Al Duhail expires at the end of the month

Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga has responded to massive transfer rumors linking him to English Premier League side Everton and other European giants.

The goal poacher has been linked to a return to Europe following his stellar performance in Asia where he has won titles in Japan and Qatar.

With his contract with Qatari side Al Duhail nearing its end, the forward is said to have attracted interests from several clubs who have been taking note of his impressive goal returns in the All Stars League and other tournaments in the Middle East nation.

When pressed to shed light on the kind of offers lying on his table, Olunga said he was keen on playing his part with his representative, taking the responsibility of hunting down the best deal.

"I can't say so much at the moment. I think it's time for me to focus on the national team duties ahead of us and relax following the tough season I have had in Qatar. It was fantastic for me winning three top scorer's awards in different competitions," said the former Gor Mahia man.

"I feel amazing, I feel I did a great job. Normally, I don't like to speculate on some things, for I can control what is within my jurisdiction which is playing football. Whatever happens behind the scenes between the clubs and management is beyond my control," he added.

At Al Duhail last season, Olunga netted a total of 22 goals in the league to win the Golden Boot, which saw him receive the Mansour Moftah Award for a second year in a row.

In 94 matches across six different competitions since joining the club, the Kenyan - who was also nominated to the shortlist for the Qatar Football Association (QFA) Best Player of the Year award, scored an impressive 95 goals.

52 of those were in the league, 15 in the AFC Champions League, 12 in the Emir Cup, 10 in the Ooredoo Cup, four in the FIFA Referees Cup, and two in the Qatar Cup.

Olunga started his career at Tusker FC in 2023 before moving to the now-defunct Thika United a year later. His breakthrough came when he signed for Gor Mahia for the 2015 season when he became one of the most sought-after players in the East African region.

The following year, he joined Djurgardens in the Swedish top-tier league. He lasted at the club for a season before moving to China, signing for Guizhou Zhicheng, which later loaned him out to Girona in the Spanish Laliga. Between 2018 and 2021, he played for Kashiwa Reysol in Japan and crossed over to Qatar in 2021, signing a two-year deal.
