What a disgrace: Only FOUR Manchester players attend Sir Bobby Charlton's funeral

Even though there are plenty of players who are not on the international duty, they weren't at the funeral
These days, the Glazer family cannot do anything right (if they ever did). They are not selling Manchester United after all; they are not investing in the club (but rather allowing Sir Jim Ratcliffe to bring in his money), and they cannot even honour the death of their famous player properly. Sir Bobby Charlton was laid to rest today in England, and a number of high-ranking football players and executives from all over the world attended the funeral, but not the owners of the club for which Charlton played. It was somehow expected as the Glazers knew that their presence would bring unwanted attention and irritate the fans. So, it was known straight away that they wouldn’t attend the funeral, and it was a logical decision, considering the circumstances.

But even though they didn’t want to further upset the fanbase, they did just that. They didn’t attend the funeral, but they didn’t send any representative, nor did they make any public comments now and when Sir Alex Ferguson’s wife Cathy died a month ago. The fans ‘roasted’ them on social media, claiming they have no respect, that they are ‘shameful’, and that they have no ‘empathy’.
“It comes as no real surprise that no one from the Glazer family appears to have bothered paying their respects at the funeral of arguably our greatest ever player. The Glazers have proved time and again they are alienated from the football club and fan base and this is just another shameful example. It is our opinion that they simply view Manchester United as a cash cow. They are not fit to be owners of one of the world's greatest football clubs, steeped in history and tradition, epitomised by the skills of players like Sir Bobby. I think we can speak for the majority of the fan base that we are glad they did not cause any unwelcome distractions. They would not have been welcome for a man who embodied all that is good at our club. Honour, integrity and dignity. However it is disappointing there has been no public statement from them today or about the sad passing of Lady Cathy” reads the statement of ‘The 1958’ fan group.
But that’s not all. The funeral, attended by the likes of Prince William, Sir Alex Ferguson and many other public figures, didn’t have so many participants from the current Manchester United team. Only FOUR members of the first-team squad came to the funeral of arguably United’s best player ever: Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, Jonny Evans and Tom Heaton. Coach Erik ten Hag also wasn’t there as he had an ‘unbreakable commitment” in Holland. There are players who were called for international duty and were excused, but the likes of Antony, Anthony Martial, Casemiro, Rasmus Hojlund, Christian Eriksen, Mason Mount, Tyrell Malacia, Sergio Reguilon, Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez are either not in their national teams or injured, but they still failed to show up. But, contrary to the Glazer family, these players and their manager didn’t get the stick from the United’s fanbase…
