Jesse Were's Kansashi Dynamos also got free points in Zambia

Harambee Stars defender Daniel Anyembe had a weekend to forget after his side Viborg lost 2-1 away to FC Copenhagen in a Danish top-tier game played at the Parken Stadium on Sunday.

Anyembe, who made his Stars debut last month in the friendly match against Iran, was in Viborg’s starting team that fell to Copenhagen.

He was withdrawn in the 73rd minute for Oliver Bundgaard as Viborg sought to commit numbers forward and collect maximum points.

Mohamed Daramy gave the host the lead barely ten minutes into the game after William Clem put him through.

Viborg, levelled matters through Elias Achouri who struck with three minutes to the half time break.

Copenhagen got the match winning goal hardly two minutes after Anyembe was rested as Anton Claesson found the back of the net in the 75th minute.

The loss, sees the third-placed Viborg who have now tasted defeat in two consecutive weekends trail Copenhagen by eight points.

Free points for Jesse Were in Zambia

Elsewhere, Kenyan forward Jesse Jackson Were and his side Kansashi Dynamos got free points in the Zambian league after their match day opponents Buildcon failed to show up.

The match was supposed to have been held at the Lumwana Stadium in Solwezi on Sunday. Were, had already been named in the starting team.

With the Zambian league approaching its business end, Buildcon’s fate is already sealed as the team has no chance of surviving a date with the axe at the end of the campaign.

Meanwhile, former City Stars midfielder Sven Yidah is expected to be in action on Tuesday when Marumo Gallants play SuperSport United in the Premier South African league.
