Vini's talks with Madrid fall through, Carletto writes him off from Brazil squad

Interesting days for the fiery Brazilian, both on the club and national team level
Everything's not so great between Vinicius Jr and Real Madrid, as it happens. At least so it seems after the negotiations regarding the Brazilian's new deal fell through. According to ESPN, the talks are over and won't be continued until next June, when Vini will enter his last year of contract.
Los Blancos backed up the forward during the Ballon d'Or "battle" against Rodri and even boycotted the ceremony in Paris, but it apparently wasn't enough to convince the player to return the favour and sign a new deal.

On the other hand, the 25-year-old's position in Xabi Alonso's squad is vague, as the Spaniard has respectable offensive alternatives. Moreover, Vini would have reportedly been benched had it not been for Trent Alexander-Arnold's injury, which helped the Brazilian keep his place in the XI.
The forward's wish to stay at Santiago Bernabeu isn't questionable, as he rejected all the offers from Saudi Arabia. The stumbling block is the money.
Madrid offered Vini a €3 million raise, thanks to which he'd earn €20 million per season. Still, he demands between €25 million and €30 million and €10 million worth of bonuses, which isn't acceptable for Los Blancos at the moment.
Either way, Real Madrid will host Osasuna tonight (22.00) in the final game of the La Liga opening round, and we'll see what role the fiery forward will get.
🚨 𝗡𝗘𝗪: Carlo Ancelotti has left Vinícius Jr. out of Brazil’s squad as he’s suspended for the first game and will rest the second.

Interestingly, Brazil boss and Vini's former coach in the Spanish capital, Carlo Ancelotti, wrote him off from the Selecao squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying clashes against Chile and Bolivia.
Truth be told, he would miss the duel against La Roja due to accumulated yellow cards, but still, his omission came as a surprise, while the official explanation is that he got time to rest. At the same time, his Madrid teammates, Rodrygo and Eder Militao, were both called up.
