Unimpressed Ogai wants more from his Darajani Gogo charges after MCF FC draw

Gogo have the worst start to the season since their inception leaving them winless in all the opening matches of the season a performance that places them 19th on the league standings

Newly appointed Darajani Gogo head coach Paul Ogai was left unpleased after his charges played out a barren draw against Mully Children Family FC on Saturday at the Vapor Hope Center Grounds.

It was the first game for the former Gogo technical director since his confirmation as the team lead instructor taking over from the outgoing Caleb Aringa.

Darajani were the best side for the better part of the match just like the previous games that has had them dominate only to drop points at the full-time whistle and the new man at the helm is not taking any of that.

Speaking at the conclusion of the match, the former Sofapaka man revealed disappointments in not grabbing the maximum points after an impressive display by his charges but expressed confident in improving every single game day.

It was a good match but not good enough to win us three points. I had only two training sessions with the team where I merged mostly on scoring goals and coming into the match, we were hoping to score at least a goal which did not happen. We will keep chasing three points and with more training sessions the team is going to get better each passing day,” offered Ogai.

The CAF D instructor further discussed the areas of concerns in the team noting that there is need for them to be more clinical in front of the goal if they want to win matches.

I think we need to be technical and tactical in front of the goal, we need to make more movements there and try to attack whoever is there. Because scoring goals is our main undoing and it has costed the team a lot since the start of the season but we will try and drill pour attackers in training sessions to make them the better version of forwards in the league,” he added.

Ogai further requested for patience from the fans as he builds a formidable team that will be able to compete at the elite level and urged them to keep tracking the team’s performance they are the sole sponsors of the Kibera based club.

We request patience from our fans as we start a new project here however, it won’t take much time, we will try to squeeze results out of them and we expect our supporters to be with us in this journey as they play a very big role in success of any club. We are one people, they are our sponsor and we are one community.” He concluded.

Gogo have the worst start to the season since their inception leaving them winless in all the opening matches of the season a performance that places them 19th on the league standings and will face a stern test from the on-form Mombasa Elites next weekend
