Hassan Mohammed 'Rio' has resumed training with Ulinzi Stars after being out on military duties
Ulinzi Stars defender Hassan Mohammed 'Rio' has resumed training with the team after being out on official military duties since 2019.
The towering defender played his last game for the soldiers in August 2019 in the East Africa Games before leaving for military duties.
However, it is unlikely that the defender will feature for the Soldiers this season as the registration period for the second leg has already lapsed.
Our assistant captain Hassan Rio Mohamed is set to leave for military duty. He will not be part of the team for the 2019/20 season. However, he will be incorporated into the team when he finishes his assignment. Join us in wishing him the best #GBUS pic.twitter.com/T5ITnkb5cr

Rio's experience will help bolster Ulinzi's defence the next season perhaps given his no-nonsense defending skills.
The Soldiers have been solid defensively with Boniface Andayi and Bonaventure Muchika forming a formidable partnership at the heart of the defence.
The team has only conceded 10 goals, with only AFC Leopards having let in less, 9.
