Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Women’s Cup back-to-back champions Ulinzi Starlets begin their chase for a third consecutive title this weekend when they take on the Technical University of Kenya (TUK) Ravens.
The match, slated for Sunday 18 February at Ruaraka grounds has the military side as the clear favorites against the varsity side.
Ulinzi Starlets head coach, Joseph Wambua Mwanza, is currently on medical leave, prompting the club to assemble a new coaching staff to oversee the team during his recovery.

The Joseph Wambua-led side that is currently third on the Women's Premier League (WPL) log will be keen to get their campaign off to a winning start as they chase a hattrick of titles.
Ulinzi Starlets won the inaugural Cup title on their debut in the top-tier league back in 2021, defeating the now-defunct Thika Queens, while the second title came last year against league holders Vihiga Queens.
The military side goes to battle without the head coach who is away on medical leave with a new technical bench led by former Harambee Stars coach Francis Kimanzi who comes in as a consultant.
Action gets underway on Saturday with Nakuru City Queens traveling to Nairobi for a clash against National Youth Service (NYS) as the WPL side seeks a place in the next round.
Nairobi Starlets host Royal Starlets at Ruaraka while Milima Queens of Bungoma have a date with troubled Gaspo Queens who have not honoured any of their WPL matches since the club was rocked with an exploitation scandal as team manager Edward Githua was accused by a section of the playing unit of sexual misconduct.
On Sunday, in addition to the TUK Raven’s clash against Ulinzi, Makolanders host Kisumu’s Kisped Queens at Ruaraka in the second match of a doubleheader while WPL leaders Kenya Police Bullets travel away to Embu where they take on Embu Queens in their Cup debut.
The Cup matches are scheduled to run until June with the final slated, tentatively for 16 June.
