A South African court had sentenced the former Orlando Pirates gaffer to two separate three-year jail terms in 2021.

Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin "Micho" Sredojevic has been acquitted of sexual assault charges with his conviction set a side after successful appeal.

Gqeberha Regional Court, South Africa in October last year sentenced the former Orlando Pirates gaffer to two separate three-year jail terms, both of which were suspended for five years.

The Serbian, who maintained his innocence, immediately moved to the Grahamstown High Court to appeal the sentence.

In a ruling delivered on August 24th, seen by Mozzart Sport, the court acquitted Micho of all charges.

"The accused is found not guilty on all accounts and is acquitted," the court ordered.

In a strongly worded statement, Micho condemned his incriminator, Sibabalo Diba, terming her a "messiah for those who had plotted against me, a bunch of faceless cowards who could not outsmart me on the field where I lead and win battles."

The 53-year-old former Zambia coach ditched Pirates after two promising years for Egypt's Zamalek in 2019 before the sexual assault charges became public.

He returned to Uganda Cranes in 2021 and has so far qualified them to the 2022 Championship of African Nations, CHAN.
