Terrible Milan succumb to a 1-0 home defeat against the Friuli club

After a tough trio of matches - Juventus, PSG and Napoli - in which they didn't secure a single victory, AC Milan had to get back to winning ways to avoid falling further behind Inter and Juventus. Their game against Udinese on Saturday night was seemingly the perfect opportunity - but the red-and-black had an unpleasant surprise in store for their fans.

The visitors, who have been without a Serie A victory all season, produced their grittiest performance of the season to shock the Rossoneri and take the points from Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, courtesy of a second-half penalty.

Milan struggled to find their rhythm in a game bereft of clear-cut chances. The game was relatively uneventful in terms of goal-scoring opportunities - and it quite suited the visitors. Despite some half-chances and attempts, the first half ended without any goals. Milan's lacklustre performance led to frustration among their fans, as they exited the field amid a chorus of boos.

The second half began with Milan making two substitutions. Stefano Pioli replaced the useless Luka Jovic with Noah Okafor and Rade Krunic with Yacine Adli. Krunic's substitution was due to possible muscular issues. It made little difference.

With an hour gone, Udinese broke the deadlock. A penalty was awarded to Udinese after Adli fouled Festy Ebosele in the box. Roberto Pereyra stepped up and converted the penalty after a VAR check.

Milan attempted to push forward, but their efforts were met with a resolute Udinese defence. The match concluded with Udinese holding onto their lead.

In summary, Milan had a disappointing performance, struggling to break down Udinese's defense. Udinese managed to secure a vital victory with Pereyra's penalty goal, leaving Milan fans frustrated with their team's flat display.
