UCL: Barca edge BVB in a five-goal thriller, Tammy tames Red Star

All five goals in Dortmund were scored after the break, with Guirassy and Torres netting braces (3-2), while Abraham's late winner secured a hard-won triumph to the Rossoneri (2-1)

Just like in the latest El Classico, Barcelona heavily relied on offside traps against Borussia in Dortmund, and it worked! After a goalless first half, the crowd at Signal Iduna Park witnessed fireworks "spiced up" with five goals, from which Barca emerged victorious - 3-2.

The Catalans took the lead twice, behind Raphinha and Ferran Torres, but Dortmund returned both times thanks to outstanding Serhou Guirassy. Yet, the 24-year-old Spaniard completed a brace five minutes before the end, throwing a punch Borussia couldn't recover from.

Hansi Flick's impact was once more immense, given that he surprisingly replaced Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski with Torres and Fermin Lopez while the scoreboard was showing 1-1, and it paid off since the first scored a crucial brace, while the latter made an assist.

This way, Torres snatched the role of a hero from Guirassy, who would have undoubtedly been man of the match had his team managed to salvage a draw. The Guinean netted two equalizers - the first one after sending home a penalty he was awarded and the second using Pascal Gross's terrific assist and fortunately avoiding one of Barca's offside traps, in which Dortmund's players were caught six times in total last night.

After this vital victory, Barcelona sit in second place, right behind Liverpool, while Borussia dropped out of the TOP 8 and currently hold the ninth spot.

At San Siro, AC Milan managed to beat Red Star Belgrade harder than expected - 2-1. Despite several chances for both teams, the crowd awaited the opener in the dying minutes of the first period. The Belgrade crew threatened over the 17-year-old Andrija Maksimovic, who hit the bar, while Rafael Leao wasted a good one-on-one chance.

Still, the Portuguese was impeccable in the 42nd minute, perfectly exploiting the space Red Star's defence left and Youssouf Fofana's timely pass. The Rossoneri had a few opportunities to seal the deal, mainly over Tammy Abraham, who was subbed in early in the game for the injured Alvaro Morata, but the visitors' keeper Ivan Gutesa put in a fantastic performance.

Another sub, Nemanja Radonjic, unleashed a "missile" to equalize, finding the top-right corner of Mike Maignan's goal in the 67th minute. Red Star's Mirko Ivanic was close to completing the Belgrade crew's comeback 11 minutes later, but his effort went wide.

And when the crowd at San Siro already lost hope and patience, Abraham exploited the melee in the visitors' box, scoring the 87th-minute winner, which moved the Rossoneri to the 12th spot, while Red Star's chance of advancing is now pretty little.
