Brewers contact Juma, yet to table bid

Eleven-time Kenyan champions Tusker are interested in acquiring Nzoia Sugar and Harambee Stars defensive midfielder Kevin Juma.

The Ruaraka-based club contacted the 25-year old player last week expressing their craving for his signature but according to the player, they did not table an offer.

Juma who has a year remaining on his contract with the Sugar millers gained fame last month after earning his maiden Harambee Stars call up and debut in the final 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Togo.

"Tusker called me last week to enquire of my availability but they did not table any bid. I still have a year remaining in my contract with Nzoia and hence can not directly negotiate with suitors without involving the club. I asked them to talk engage my employer and hopefully the two clubs will reach an agreement," he revealed.

The former pupil at Shaermoi Primary School, Naivasha attributed the interest from The Brewers to the playing time Stars head coach Jacob 'Ghost' Mulee gifted him in the final qualifier match against Togo.

During the match played at the Stade de Kegue in Lome, Juma came in the second half for Gor Mahia winger Cliffton Miheso.

"Playing in the national team added flavor in my profile and exposed my talent to the world. The call up and the minutes I played have begun bringing fruits and I expect more teams to reach out once the ban on sporting activities is lifted," he said.

Juma who joined Nzoia in 2018 from Chandawa FC did not rule out the possibility of switching his allegiance should clubs table lucrative offers.

"I am ready to play anywhere provided that the club which will win my signature takes player welfare with the seriousness it deserves," he added.
