Trinity Starlets ascended to the top of the FKF Women's Premier League (WPL) table after securing a 3-1 away win over Madira Soccer Assassins in a match played at the Mumboha Grounds.

With defending champions Kenya Police Bullets FC taking to the field on Sunday, 7 December, Trinity who had 14 points heading into the match, needed a victory to have a taste of the top of the table for the first time this season.
Miriam Nelima gave the visitors the lead in the 10th minute from a powerful header before Elizabeth Muteshi doubled the lead for the Sylvanus Wesonga-coached side.
Trinity, who were dominant in the first half, missed an opportunity to put the game beyond Madira in the 28th minute when Sharken Njeri shot wide from an Eglay Mukwana pass.
However, the visitors were not to be denied in the third minute of first half added time when Nelima rose high once again to nod in the third, with the halftime whistle blown shortly thereafter.
Madira pulled one back from the spot 10 minutes after the break through Junior Starlets midfielder Lindey Weey, scores that remained unchanged until the final whistle was blown.
With the win, Trinity are now top of the league with 18 points, two more than Kenya Police Bullets FC, who face Ulinzi Starlets on Sunday.
Kayole Starlets 2-0 Vihiga Queens
At Stima Sports Club, Kayole Starlets continued with their impressive run after thumping Kenyan giants Vihiga Queens 2-0 to move to second on the league table.
Linda Kihara gave Kayole the lead in the 30th minute when Magneta Ocharo delivered a cross that was well converted with a powerful header.
In the second half, Ashley Shilwatso who just returned from Harambee Starlets duties and started from the bench, came on to double Police’s lead in the 75th minute, a result that they held firmly until the final whistle.
Kibera Soccer Women 2-0 Kisumu Allstarlets
Kibera Soccer Women’s scramble to disentangle from the relegation zone received a major boost after they edged Kisumu All Starlets 2-0.
Kibera broke the deadlock through Anney Matinde in the 29th minute before Anna Arusi doubled the lead in the 87th minute to seal victory that took them to ninth and out of the relegation zone.
Kisped Queens 0-1 Gideon Starlets
At the Moi Stadium, Kisumu, visitors Gideon Starlets managed to beat Kisped Queens 1-0 to secure an important victory that moved them to eighth on the table.
Bungoma Queens vs Zetech Sparks
At the Bungoma National Polytechnic, hosts Bungoma Queens uncharacteristically issued a walkover against visiting Zetech Sparks who were happy to return home with three points without kicking a ball.
